This dam is 20 Kms north west of Kalpetta town and second biggest dam in Asia and largest dam in India, situated nearer to Padinharathara. AMINI HYDRAL PROJECT is present on this dam. The topography here is such that many islands will be formed in the upstream of the dam when the dam is full. All these islands with the background of the Banasura hill, provides hypnotising sight to the tourists.
